Apprentice Software Developer
Who you'll work for
The successful apprentice will be working from the company's office in Daventry with a mentor who is an experienced software developer and an architect of the current product.
As an Apprentice Software Developer, your job includes:
- The software runs on CentOS/Ubuntu Linux. This means that experience working with these OS's would be preferable.
- The software also has a browser-based UI. This means that experience working with CSS & HTML5 is desirable.
- There are other competencies that would be useful such as working with charting, images, PDF creation using PHP/jQuery, web-based mobile apps and IT networking. Many of these however will be gained on the apprenticeship training courses.
Although the company is small it is growing fast and operating in the most volatile and exciting area of IT - Cyber Security - so the ideal apprentice will be someone who is flexible, enjoys a challenge and will often be working outside of their comfort zone. Working on the front-lines of cyber defence is best suited to people who already have a keen interest in hacking and problem solving.

You'll need at least five GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C or above including Maths, English and either IT or Science.Future prospects By working hard and demonstrating your ability, drive and commitment throughout your 24 month apprenticeship scheme, upon completion you may be offered a permanent contract ensuring you have further opportunities to continue growing within this exciting organisation.
