Apprentice Chartered Surveyor
The vacancy is based within our Heathrow agency team that has three surveyors. You will carry out both property acquisition and property disposal work on industrial and office properties within the Thames Valley market. Key duties include:
- Inspections and measurements
- Property marketing
- Reviewing/drafting property marketing information
- Negotiating leasehold and freehold transactions
- Acquisitions and disposals
- Valuation for marketing purposes
- Telephone follow-up calls
- Providing marketing schedules for client updates
- Attending marketing meeting updates with clients
- Updating information on the corporate system (in-house CMS)
An interest in property, previous experience beneficial but not essential.
Good communication skills both verbal and written as this role requires a lot of client contact.
Ability to organise and prioritise work and client meetings.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.Personal qualities
Confident, sociable (indicative of this surveying discipline), willing to learn, flexible, a team player.Qualifications required
For standard entry applicants, must have obtained 96 UCAS tariff points (2017 Tariff) or 230 UCAS tariff points (2016 Tariff) or have an equivalent level of attainment through recognised qualifications not included in the UCAS Tariff
Have completed an Advanced Apprenticeship in Surveying or an Advanced Apprenticeship in Construction Technical through which a Construction and Built Environment Diploma with a minimum DD profile was obtained or through which a Construction and Built Environment Extended Diploma with a minimum MMM profile was obtained, or an equivalent qualification
Have a current RICS Associate qualification (AssocRICS)
Have GCSE Grade C or above in English and Mathematics (Grade 4 for applicants holding newly reformed GCSEs in England) or an equivalent Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics as defined by the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) in England.
*Recognised qualifications having an equivalent level of attainment as those recognised by UCAS include: Higher National Certificate (HNC), Higher National Diploma (HND), professional qualifications from recognised institutions, certain armed forces qualifications and partially completed degrees.Future prospects Upon completion of the BSc (Hons) Real Estate Management and the structured workplace learning you will undertake the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence leading to registration with the RICS as a Chartered Surveyor (Commercial Property Practice) . Things to consider Travel is a big part of the job so please be prepared to travel 15-20,000 miles per year. Use of your own vehicle is required. The vehicle must be taxed and MOT'd by yourself and be insured for business use. Business mileage is reimbursed at a rate of 23p per mile. Regular property visits/viewings with some being lone visits. Meetings in Central London.
