What will the apprentice be doing?

Apprenticeship Overview:

We have an amazing opportunity for a Software Developer Apprentice to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn and grow your skills in software development while contributing to meaningful projects and product development. The purpose of the software developer role involves designing, creating and maintaining software applications, systems, and solutions. Software developers play a crucial role in the software development lifecycle, from conceptualising an idea to delivering a functional and high-quality product.

As an Apprentice, you will work under the guidance of experienced developers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative software solutions.

Your responsibilities will grow with you as you build your knowledge and skills. You will have the opportunity to develop an understanding or and skills in:
  • Design and planning
  • Coding and implementation
  • Testing
  • Version control and collaboration tools
  • Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD)

  • Is willing to commit to completing a Level 4 Software Developer Apprenticeship over an approximate duration of 18-months

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

As part of the Level 4 Software Developer apprenticeship standard, you'll be registered as a member with the British Computer Society and be on a fast track to an industry recognised qualification and your dedicated industry coach will support you through a blended approach that will include remote, in person, 1-2-1 and group learning.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

After the successful completion of your apprentice you'll be able to continue to develop your career in software development or you may want to explore other roles within the company.
