Temporary for 12 months, - (with progression opportunities available for successful candidates)

Full Time (37.5 hpw)

Salary GBP4.20 to GBP7.83 per hour, depending on age (this is reflective of NMW)

So what's so great about this apprenticeship? Well, your wage will be higher than the national apprenticeship minimum wage, so start planning what to spend that extra cash on! You'll be employed for a 12 month period to get stacks of experience and launch your career! You'll start at NVQ level 2 (equivalent to a GCSE) with a possible progression to level 3 (equivalent to A-levels) and many apprentices secure a permanent role with us! Who knows where future you will end up!

About the role

We are looking for an energised and passionate person to become an apprentice and to join our community mental health services within the Ipswich area. The service is focused on supporting people experiencing mental health to maintain independent living in the community.

The service works with individuals with complex needs which alongside mental health can include physical health conditions, substance or alcohol dependency and or other issues which lead to low mental health and social exclusion. Many of our customers have difficulty engaging with other services as a result of their support needs.

Your Apprentice role will be supporting the team of support coordinators to deliver a high quality service which meets customer needs and offers person centred support planning. You will support adults to live in our mental health accommodation services and deliver outreach support in the community where needed.

During the apprenticeship you will gain experience in all aspects of the role, including the digital systems used to maintain, monitor and review our services. You will be provided with on the job training, 20% off the job training and study for a relevant professional qualification (Level 2 Diploma).

Please note any offer of employment is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure check through the DBS the costs of which are met by Home Group.

Who we're looking for

Ideally you will had previous experience of providing care or support to vulnerable people and will be empathetic with a caring approach to support our customers with a range of support needs whilst maintaining boundaries. You'll have good written and verbal communication skills,

interpersonal skills and basic Microsoft Office Skills but before long you'll be a real whizz! You be great at working with people as part of a team, but must be able to work independently and use your initiative. You'll be keen to learn from others how to prioritise and manage your work load, but an eye for detail is important.
