An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Nutrition & Dietetics team for an enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Dietetic Assistant Practitioner.
We are extremely keen to hear from individuals who are keen to progress their careers through the newly created Dietetic Apprentice routes. Through these routes you will have the opportunity to study & learn to become a HCPC registered Dietitian whilst working in a Dietetic Assistant Practitioner Role. You will have opportunity to develop the skills that help provide a comprehensive and effective Dietetic service as well as gaining insight into the provision of education and development within the NHS.
This is a full time post at 37.5 hours a week. If successful in your application, a proportion of time will be spent with a training provider studying towards the Dietetics Apprenticeship qualification.

Main duties of the job
Deliver evidence-based, patient-centred dietetic care to patients covered by the Acute and Community Dietetic Teams, other healthcare professionals all under the direction & support of Registered Dietitians.
Carry out specific delegated clinical and care tasks and responsibilities to a high standard and competency, with the support, direction and supervision of a Registered Dietitian or other registered care professional
Work with a mentor to take responsibility for developing own clinical competence, leadership and reflective practice skills within the workplace, while on placements and through university study
Develop and improve practical and theoretical knowledge, competence, skills and behaviours to meet the requirements of the Apprenticeship standard.
Develop by the end of the Dietetic Apprenticeship, the ability to work without direct supervision, assessing and delivering evidence-based care independently, within the parameters of a Registered Dietitian
Be proactive in seeking opportunities to develop own knowledge and skills, achieving clinical competencies within agreed timeframes. Seeks support / guidance in timely manner if any difficulties are encountered
