What you will do in your working day

Principal Accountabilities And Responsibilities:
  • Support the work of school staff to deliver high quality PE and school sports
  • Support in developing and leading school sports teams
  • Support the school in preparing for and attending school sport competitions
  • Support competitions, sports days, fixtures and other events where possible
  • Help to identify and support talented individuals within lessons
  • Help ensure the sporting achievements of the school and its students are well publicised
  • One to one support for pupils with SEN or disabilities within lessons where applicable and under supervision
  • Contribute to joint working with other organisations
  • Set up, take down and store activity equipment
  • Complete and maintain appropriate data and administration associated with the role
  • Promote health and wellbeing through physical activity
  • Support equality and diversity in PE and school sports
  • Any other duties deemed appropriate to the role
  • Undertake training and duties required to complete an externally assessed apprenticeship
  • Ensure that you are a strong, positive role model for the children and other staff
  • To undertake broadly similar duties commensurate with the level of the post
  • To adhere to all the school's policies
  • Actively participate in any appropriate training and meetings when require
  • support during pupil lunchtimes and breaktimes
  • Appreciate and support the role of other professionals

Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures, and report all concerns to anmappropriate person, in respect of:
  • Safeguarding
  • Health, safety and security
  • Confidentiality
  • Data protection
  • Contribute to the school's commitment to equality of access to opportunities to learn and develop for all pupils
  • Undertake these duties within agreed departmental service/school objectives, policies and procedures and promote the Council's Equal Opportunities Policy

The training you will be getting
  • All learning is delivered online/remote
  • Completing Level 4 Sports Coach Apprenticeship Standard
  • All learning will be completed remotely via an online platform called Smart Assessor

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
  • Possible full-time employment upon completion of the apprenticeship
