Job Purpose

To provide technical support to staff and students on the Diocese network covering the entire IT infrastructure. To provide technical support to staff on the Diocese network covering the entire IT infrastructure. 

Trinity House IT department is dynamic, in just recent months, many modern and progressive ideas systems and solutions have been implemented, such as new programming, new data analytical process and cyber security developments.
Main Duties

  • To undertake a development programme leading to an ICT Support Technician Qualification actively participate in their own development plan agreed with their line manager and assessor.
  • Work alongside experienced IT Support & Cybersecurity Analyst whilst learning all aspects of the role.
  • Assist in general administration and support to the ICT – Service Desk Team.
  • Installation, configuration and imaging of computers, laptops and end user devices.
  • User Account Management on various IT systems including Active Directory.
  • Intranet/Database Systems Support and maintenance.
  • Wireless Network System.
  • Maintaining computer assets.
  • Managing and supporting Cloud based systems – Office 365.
  • Perform backups and restoration of data when required.
  • IT Hardware upgrades / repairs.
  • Deal with external suppliers / support contracts.
  • Ordering of IT equipment and consumables.
  • Printers, Print Management Software, Interactive Whiteboards.
  • Provide front line support and services.
  • Assist with hardware and software installations.
  • Deal with enquiries, tickets logged on the service desk and to communicate effectively with customers, colleagues and internal/external personnel.
  • To ensure accurate record keeping using IT systems.
  • To follow instructions and procedures within the IT Service.
  • To demonstrate a positive, enthusiastic, committed and flexible attitude towards work, team member, colleagues and other persons.
  • Recognising the importance and benefits of effective team working.
  • To work in line with ‘best practice’ ensuring compliance to relevant policies.
  • To maintain confidentiality and discretion.

Requirements

Desired Skills and Qualities

  • Minimum of 3 GCSE (Grades 4-9) or equivalent to include English, Mathematics and a Science or Technology subject.
  • Excellent IT Skills – Microsoft Office Environment
  • A good understanding of Windows operating systems and desktop hardware.
  • Experience working as part of a team (this could be in a sporting, educational, work or social setting) as well as demonstrating use of own initiative.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to understand and apply regulations and written instructions.
  • Logical and methodical mind-set with good attention to detail.
  • Ability to deliver excellent customer service.

General

  • To work with communities sometimes outside normal office hours, including weekends.
  • To always ensure that service delivery informs, reflects and supports the prevailing aims and objectives.
  • To work with colleagues across the organisation as required in support of organisational goals.
  • To undertake all training and development initiatives as required.
  • To work within Health and Safety guidelines in accordance with the Health and Safety at work Act.
