Paralegal Apprentice for Marsh McLennan

Job Description:

Duties may include:

Drafting, reviewing and negotiating client agreements (for insurance broking consulting and other Marsh McLennan services) and ancillary legal documentation, with support from in-house Counsel.

Respond to ad hoc legal and commercial queries from business colleagues.

Carrying out legal research and providing legal updates to the team.

Support strategic departmental initiatives and build function knowledge, for example developing and delivering internal know-how and guidance notes and maintaining template agreements to ensure compliance with relevant policies and legislation.

Developing and assisting with internal training and business updates.

Supporting the wider Risk, Legal & Compliance team with internal projects and various matters.

Training Provided:

As a Paralegal Apprentice with BPP, you will complete the Paralegal Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship. Additional learning within the apprenticeship will enable you to be awarded a Level 4 Certificate of Higher Education in Legal Services which can afford you exemptions from the first two years of the Level 7 Solicitor Apprenticeship.

Your apprenticeship shall be delivered by a blend of online and face-to-face training from and on-the-job learning.

Qualification Requirements:

 5 GCSEs Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) including Maths and English
3 A Levels (or equivalent) Grade C and above totalling 96 UCAS points

Strong research and analytical skills.

Strong drafting skills.

Computer literate – experience with Microsoft Office.

Effectively able to prioritise work by understanding competing demands and making appropriate judgements regarding relative importance.

Confidently able to communicate and work with a range of stakeholders both internally and externally.

Able to take initiative, is proactive and confidently able to take ownership of matters and develop self.

A professional approach to work.
