Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship
The Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship 4 year programme
This is a work-based course and a four year education program, working towards becoming a Registered Nurse with a BSc Hons Degree. The course combines work-based and academic learning between BCHC and Birmingham City University (BCU).
Registered Nursing posts will be offered to Apprentices, on successful completion of the course and registration with NMC.
Main duties of the job
As an Apprentice you will be based, as a paid employee, within BCHC. Whilst you will be allocated to one specific area, you will experience working across both internal and external placements to gain an appreciation of the different areas of local healthcare service and meet the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) requirements.
Training
Attendance is expected two days per week at BCU and 1 day per week to attend clinical placement with the remaining 2 days per week at the work base. On successful completion of the apprenticeship you will be able to join the Nursing and Midwifery Council Register as a Registered Nurse. During the education program you will develop skills, knowledge and behaviours that will allow you to work in today's dynamic and changing healthcare environment. You will be required to commit to self-directed study and successfully complete the education program within the contract period.
