Here at Mid & South Essex NHS Foundation Trust we are looking for a switched on individual to join us under our apprenticeship scheme in Digital Services as an IT Service Desk Apprentice.
We are a team of 13 based at Britannia House, Britannia Business Park, Southend-On-Sea and support all users across our 3 MSE Hospitals, Basildon, Broomfield and Southend.
If you have a natural interest in IT, have good customer service ability and have an equivalent to a level C pass, or above in English and Math's then consider an apprenticeship with us!
We will sign you up to our apprenticeship scheme where you will complete a portfolio of work which will be marked on completion. You'll have one to one, and group sessions with a trainer from our apprenticeship provider 'Remit' and will be allocated 20% off the job training to complete your course work, which is 1 full day out of a 5 day working week.
You'll be trained to work on the Service Desk internally by one of our established analysts and will be supported at all times.
Main duties of the job

Professional manner during all communications with MSE staff and external customers, in person, over the phone and via email.A basic understanding of Digital hardware and software,An understanding of the Windows 10 operating systemA keen interested in technology inside and outside of the workplace
The individual will work with the Service Desk team which serve over 18,000 end users in a domain environment using a mixture of end user devices to access network based resources/systems. Devices rangefrom Desktop PCs, laptops, iPads, iPods and bespoke medical equipment in restricted areas such as Theatres.
On a day-to-day basis you will be expected to take service desk support calls, work from a queue of prioritised requests placed by staff working in our hospitals, these tasks will consist of 1st line support requests, access requests and triaging requests to other IT teams where qualified engineers need to work on more advanced tasks. All theory based learning can be applied in the working environment, statement of works will be issued throughout the apprentice period to allow the individual to apply theory in practice.
