The role will ideally suit someone that is keen and motivated in developing their skills, knowledge and career path in a small but highly respected Birmingham-based software company. Primarily involved in the development of advanced intelligent data capture and analysis solutions, our company has several thousand users actively engaged in using our mobile device app and web based solutions 7 days a week, 365 days a year across a wide and challenging range of industries.
Comprising 2 main activities the successful candidate can expect to have full experience of and exposure to :
* Working on key aspects of the company's existing systems including software enhancements, new features covering both User Interface (UI) and supporting databases and developing custom data capture forms
* Acting in a customer support capacity to receive, diagnose and ultimately satisfactorily resolve reported issues
A typical working week will usually be both exciting and varied in supporting the company's growing national and international customer base as well as contributing to future releases of existing and new products.
You will work directly under the guidance of the Technical Director and occasionally with the Managing Director. You will be mentored through your Apprenticeship course by an existing member of staff who is currently nearing the completion of a Level 4 Software Apprenticeship with TDM Wyre Academy. This will significantly aid your personal and professional development and is a major bonus for the successful candidate.
As this is primarily a software development role you will have some prior experience of using the following languages:
* HTML
* PHP
* MySQL
* CSS

* Logical and methodical approach to problem solving
* Good attention to detail and desire to achieve a high degree of accuracy
* Well organised and able to cope with changing priorities
* Good competency with MS Office applications especially Word and Excel

Working week
Monday to Friday - 9am - 5pm
Total hours per week: 35
Annual wage: GBP10,000
Training to be provided
The successful candidate will undertake a two year nationally recognised qualification through TDM.
This is a work-based learning programme which will require commitment to block weeks in a training room once every quarter working towards the qualification along with weekly off the job training and monthly coaching sessions. You will be required to demonstrate through the standard that you meet all competencies and behaviours which will lead to the acheivement of the qualification. These block weeks will take place at either of our training centres, in Birmingham or Worcester, whichever is more suitable for your location.
You will have a designated mentor in the workplace to support your learning and at the end of programme will be assessed via an external assessment body.
This is a Level 4 qualification.
