The company is looking to recruit General Construction and Joinery Apprentices in the North East area of England and Nottingham (General Construction only) for the September 2019 intake.
Please note - Applicants must be willing and able to travel as they will be required to move to various sites throughout the region depending on workload and in order to gain relevant experience.

Description:
As an apprentice at Sir Robert McAlpine, you will undertake a three-year apprenticeship, complete with day or block release at college.
You will be mentored and provided with all the support you need to achieve NVQ2 / NVQ3 as applicable during the three-year period.
The company will arrange for you to complete an Operatives Health and Safety test in order for you to gain your CSCS Card. You will ideally have grades A to C in GCSE Maths, English and IT.
General Duties:
An overview of the areas you will be trained in throughout your apprenticeship are detailed below, however this is not an exhaustive list.Joinery Apprentices will be trained to carry out the following:• Measuring, marking and cutting materials to size and fix into position e.g. skirting, back moulds, window boards, floor joists and coverings.• Plumb, line, level door frames, fix and hang doors.• Fix ironmongery.• Using hand/power tools.• Making and fixing Formwork (shuttering) into position to form moulds for concrete.
General Construction Apprentices will be trained to carry out the following:• Site works including placing concrete, finishing concrete using hand/power tools.• Ground work, digging foundations, trenches, exposing services and making good.• Laying modular paving including sand and cement screeds.• Laying drainage.
