Due to the continued expansion of our business into web and digital markets, we are looking for an enthusiastic and creative Apprentice Web Designer/Developer.

We will provide full training and support for the right candidate, however knowledge and skills in some or all of the following areas would be desirable:

  • HTML
  • CSS
  • Javascript
  • PHP
  • Knowledge of popular content management systems, ideally WordPress and Magento
  • A good overall understanding of the website development process, including domains, hosting, production and testing

More importantly, we are looking for someone who wants to take this fantastic opportunity and work with us for years to come. The right candidate will have a great work ethic, good communication skills and shouldn't be afraid to come up with their own ideas.
Based on the outskirts of Leeds, Telescope Studios is a design and web agency with a focus on creating superb digital platforms for businesses. You will have the opportunity to work on varying projects for a large range of clients which will further develop your digital skill-set.
We are a growing web team, looking for the talent we need to be able to expand. It is important that you understand what a great opportunity this is in the long-term, and only apply if you are serious about a career in Web Development. You will receive excellent support, tasks that will challenge you and the opportunity to continue learning, as the web never stands still.

Apprentices must show commitment to the following:

  • To achieve apprentice framework (Key Skills, NVQ and Technical Certificate) within the specified time frame
  • Attend the apprenticeship induction programme
  • Attend all of the training sessions for the programme whenever necessary
  • Undertake any other required development work as part of the apprenticeship programme as requested
  • Any other duties as deemed appropriate by senior staff.

    Apprenticeship start throughout the year and are open to any age of candidate.

Qualifications required

Five GCSEs grade A to C including English and Maths or equivalent

NVQ 3 in Marketing or Graphic Design

or

Relevant work experience of 2 years or more in this kind of environment

From April 2017 this rises to £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
