As we continue our fast expansion, we are hiring a JavaScript Developer for the Vizia team in our Brighton office to enhance and extend our user interface.

As the second product in Brandwatch's suite of products, Vizia, is a dynamic and customisable command centre that dramatically visualises real-time data in a beautiful way. The Vizia team develops the product that helps our clients become cutting edge by creating a multi-screen social media hub that showcases all of their social data in an engaging and stylish way.

Your role will include:

  • Work day-to-day on Vizia, a complex single-page application served from Node.js
  • Be involved in the creation of new functionality through initial estimation to final delivery, as part of feature teams using Agile methodologies

You should have:

  • Good JavaScript programming skills, including object oriented JavaScript
  • Solid understanding of HTML 5, CSS, and Web standards
  • Exposure to Backbone.js or similar, with an understanding of MV* architectures
  • Experience with Git (a link to your Github account is a big plus)
  • Familiarity with BDD (or TDD) processes and frameworks using tools such as Mocha and Sinon
  • Familiarity with Node.js
  • Familiarity with Linux/OSX
  • Experience creating data visualisations with technologies such as SVG and WebGL is also big plus

Ideally a minimum 4 GCSE's C and above Including Maths, English and ICT (or equivalents)

Future prospects Permanent position within the company.

Things to consider From 1st October 2016 The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.40 per hour. From April 2017 this rises to £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
