Job Details

Responsible for supporting retail operations, and our wider M&C UK team, in effectively using data to shape and maintain effective tools and process that provide meaningful insight to our colleagues. This enabling us to maximise performance and to execute and deliver best-in-class retail operations across our UK company-owned, dealer and franchise estate  

This role will by key in supporting the business to successfully balance the delivery of consistent operational excellence with implementing change and growth, which whilst exciting can often be complex to navigate 

As part of the apprenticeship scheme, this role will benefit for ongoing support and mentoring coupled with the allowance of all required elements of the scheme (i.e. study time) 

Over the course of this 2 year apprenticeship programme, you will be supporting the UK business and working on real outcomes. 

You will: 

  • Be part of a central operations team that successfully enables the delivery of consistently best-in-class, customer-focused retail operations  
  • Ensure ways of working are continually optimised to maximise all areas of our operation – this will require ensuring we successfully pivot between day-to-day and future vision  
  • Effectively use data and insight to identify opportunities and trends, and to drive positive results and change – this will include working with stakeholders to build effective and best-in-class tools, reporting and comms that are tailored to the target audience appropriately 
  • Balance the internal ‘voice of the customer’ – i.e. our front-line teams – with insight and best practice from across the organisation and externally to ensure we are agile in our approach to continually evolve and improve the service and tools we provide 
  • Provide support in the delivery of consistently safe, strong, profitable, and customer-focused operations whilst being able to effectively lead and support change and growth  
  • Embrace a culture of excellence, but one of openness to listen, learn, evolve, and try new things  
  • Work alongside colleagues to ensure we have effective ways of working the wider UK M&C business, with a true one team approach 
  • Provide support across the retail operations team including administration tasks, data and reporting as required  
  • Be available to support emergency / critical operational situations as required 

You will be embedded within a real team, with support from a manager and colleagues, as well as full support from your apprenticeship training provider and the bp people & culture early careers programme team.  You will receive regular structured feedback on your development, progress to date, and next steps. In addition, you’ll be guided at every step by an experienced mentor or buddy.

As part of bp, you will also be able to take part in additional activities outside of your role, whether it be supporting local community initiatives, or involvement in bp Business Resourcing Groups and you are given the encouragement and time to participate.
