Logisnext UK Ltd are offering an exciting opportunity for someone looking to start a career within engineering as an Apprentice Forklift Engineer. The role is based at our customer site in Wardle. Nantwich, where you will work alongside a dedicated mentor as well as attending North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College.

Logisnext UK Ltd are the manufacturer and supplier of Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks, the world s fourth-largest industrial truck manufacturer, supplying a complete range of electric, gas and diesel operated forklift trucks to our customers.

The Apprenticeship.

Over 3 to 4 years, you will study a Level 3 Lift Truck and Powered Access Technician Apprenticeship where you will work towards becoming a fully qualified Forklift Truck Engineer. You will learn how to service, maintain and repair customer Forklift Trucks and Materials Handling equipment.

The training will comprise of on the job and off the job training.

Off the job Training

The academic learning aspect is managed by North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College. You will be required to attend college for one week, once every 6 weeks.

The company will pay for all travel costs, as well as all food expenses and accommodation, if required. As well as attending college you will be required to complete assignments in your own time and collect your own evidence towards your portfolio.

On the job Training

Day to day you will work alongside an experienced engineer and mentor, learning the practical skills to maintain and repair the customers fleet of forklift trucks and materials handling equipment. This will include:

- Carrying out regular servicing on customer forklift truck equipment.

- Diagnosing faults and completing required repairs to vehicles in a time and cost-effective manner.

- Keeping up to date records and completion of documents to company standards.

- Identifying required parts.

- Developing and maintaining customer relationships ensuring the highest levels of customer service are achieved.

- Adhering to Health & Safety requirements at all times.

Who are we looking for?

Our ideal candidate will have a good problem-solving ability, a genuine interest in a mechanical or engineering career and be willing to work as part of a team as well as using their own initiative and be flexible and adaptable.

Ideally you will have Grade 4 or above in English and Maths or equivalent. However, this is not essential, it is more important that you have the right attitude and interest in the field of engineering.

Future prospects.

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship there is the opportunity of a permanent role within Logisnext UK Ltd as a site-based or field-based Engineer.

Things to consider.

You must be able to travel to Wardle on a day-to-day basis, as well as the Coventry and Lutterworth area to attend college for the weekly sessions.

As part of the qualification, there will be an occasional requirement to do some work in your own time, for example assignments.

The package.

At Logisnext UK Ltd we offer a generous package including a basic salary of GBP18,000 per annum, increasing every 6 months providing you complete/pass college and workbased milestones, gateway assessments, performance reviews and general attitude/attendance etc.
