What you will do in your working day
The Engineering Higher Apprenticeship is a 3-year scheme during which you will spend time in a number of different placements within the business where you will undertake a range of engineering activities and be exposed to different aspects the project lifecycle. You will attend college during the first 2 years on a day release programme to complete the Higher National Certificate (HNC).
During the first 6 months of the apprenticeship you will spend time in Portsmouth Naval Base's Skills and Development Centre where you will develop your practical engineering skills. At the end of the 3 years, you will be required to complete and pass an End Point Assessment which confirms you have gained the required knowledge, skills and behaviours of the apprenticeship.

• Level 4 Apprenticeship Certificate (Engineering Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship Standard)
• Higher National Certificate in Engineering
• Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths and English (If not previously achieved)
