What you will do in your working day

It's an opportunity like no other as you use data to help ensure soldiers in the Royal School of Military Engineers receive unparalleled training, accommodation, and resources.

Over 18 months, you'll explore the ever-changing world of data analytics, learning how to turn data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions, powerful content and interesting resources.

As part of our performance and compliance team, you'll:
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of data, its nuances, and its potential.
  • Identify data sources to meet the organisation's requirement.
  • Learn to handle, process, and manipulate both structured and unstructured data.
  • Liaise with the client and colleagues from other areas of the organisation to establish reporting needs and deliver insightful and accurate information.
  • Support the organisation by maintaining and developing reports for analysis to aid with decisions.
  • Collect, compile and, if needed, cleanse data.
  • Master tools and languages like Python SQL, Numpy, Pandas, Jupyter, and more.

The training you will be getting

You'll study for a Level 4 Data Analyst qualification with LearnTech that will not only equip you with the technical know-how but will also open doors for further professional growth.

Apprentices without level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking theEnd-Point Assessment.

Through classroom learning and on-the-job training, you'll develop a deep understanding of what data is, how to work with it and how to use it to gain the greatest insights.

You'll also have the opportunity to register as a student member with the BCS (British Computer Society), the Chartered Institute for IT, to support your professional career development and progression.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Upon completion of the apprenticeship, you will move into a substantive position within the business.

By the end of this programme, you'll be driving smart, data-informed decisions that elevate our performance and reputation. With clear progression routes tailored to your strengths, you're not just starting a job; you're embarking on a journey to shape the future with us.
