What you will do in your working day
  • Lead a team to deliver adrenaline-pumping activities such as: Climbing, Caving, High-ropes, Bushcraft, Challenge Valley, Zip wire, Low-Ropes, Orienteering and more!
  • Manage and mentor a team of staff; organising their rotas, managing training needs, and helping them to be successful in their own roles
  • Act as Group Lead to our customers - devising activity programmes, meet and greet, ensuring everything is perfect from a customer service perspective
  • General site maintenance, cleaning duties, reception cover

The training you will be getting

Level 5 Outdoor Learning Specialist Apprenticeship

Onsite training courses in all activities offered by the site, gaining external NGBs and in-house qualifications

Courses to take place onsite at Bradley Wood Scout Campsite during your normal working hours

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

A full time, permanent Senior Instructor role may be available at Bradley Wood

Things to consider

Over 18s only due to insurance and accommodation. The postholder must become a member of the Scout Association and any costs and mandatory training will be supported by the Employer. It is not an essential requirement that the successful postholder will have previous experience of working with the Scout Association, either on a paid or voluntary basis. You will be personable, outgoing and confident, with a passion for the outdoors. Interested in working with children and in coaching, mentoring and instructing. Enthusiasm and common sense are essential! The following are desirable: Holder of current First Aid at Work certificate. Safety conscious and trained to Level 2 in H&S in the workplace . Proven motivational, leadership and development skills. Archery NGB. NSRA Shooting Award. British Fencing Coach. Climbing NGB Award. Teaching / Coaching Qualification. Full Clean Driving Licence. NVQ level 3 in Outdoor recreation/education or development & training or equivalent.
