The Role:

As a Graduate Sttructural Engineer, you will be working on challenging and exciting projects, undertaking designs and technical calculations on a variety of structural projects

At times you will be the point of contact on projects and work alongside additional structural engineering team members whilst liaising with other engineering disciplines within the practice. You will be responsible for the design and deliverables on Structural Engineering Schemes whilst reporting to the Senior Structural Engineer and Technicians on a day-to-day basis. You will need to be a strong written and verbal communicator as you will regularly liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and regulatory/statutory authorities. Your role will also include site meetings/inspections and progress reporting.

Required skills and Experience:

  • BSc/BEng/MSc/MEng in civil/structural engineering
  • Civil and structural design work including calculations and drawings
  • To prepare quotations for prospective projects which will generally be approved by Simon Bastone or other Senior Engineers
  • You are expected to be familiar with British Standards, Codes of Practice and Euro Codes and keep up to date with revisions
  • Excellent communication with clients, architects and contractors
  • Keep timesheets up to date and accurate
  • Able to use AutoCAD
  • To visit site when required to gather information for design, such as loadings and the condition of the structure
  • A desire to learn and develop and undertake continuing professional development


  • Starting salary based on proven skills and experience up to GBP30K
