Higher Apprenticeship in Food Development
Development isn't just cooking products in the kitchen - it is about creativity, innovation, and the ability to turn your passion for food into a career. Our Higher Apprenticeship in Food Development will allow you to explore the detail of each raw ingredient that goes into our products, develop ideas and recipes that transform into products that consumers want to buy, and identify where there are gaps in the market for new concepts. Development is crucial to ensuring that Bakkavor stays ahead of the market. In this role you will be working in both an office setting as well as the kitchens as you develop new products, refresh existing products, explore ingredients and design packaging.
As a leading manufacturer of fresh prepared foods in the UK and the only fresh prepared foods company to trade on an international scale, Bakkavor is always looking for talented individuals who have a can-do attitude and want to make a difference. We encourage personal initiative and empower our people to make things happen. Our approach is informal and our culture is highly service-orientated.
This could be your opportunity to receive further qualifications without the cost of university. You will receive full support and training from day one to progress your career in Food Development. Placements are usually as Development Technologists working within the New Product Development (NPD) team on idea generation, recipe development, new product trials and production launches. Throughout the programme you will gain a qualification as a Food Technologist and will be able to explore advanced career aspirations such as Senior Technologist or NPD Manager, just to name a few. Best of all, upon completing this apprenticeship you will be guaranteed a full-time role with Bakkavor.
