What you will do in your working day

As an Apprentice Environmental Consultant, with Arup you will develop your knowledge, skills and behaviours in the following areas:
  • Technical knowledge of environmental and sustainability issues working with a range of specialists in air quality, archaeology and heritage, carbon, climate resilience, contaminated land, ecology, landscape, noise and vibration, water, waste and resource management;
  • Programme and project management;
  • Research, information management and report writing;
  • Contract and financial management;
  • Teamwork and communication skills.

The training you will be getting

Your study pattern could be day or block release, or via distance learning, depending on the course that you enrol on. A dedicated mentor will guide you through your personal and professional development.Level 6 Degree Apprenticeships have a typical duration of 3- 6 years, during which you will attain both a professional and academic qualification (Environmental Practitioner - UWE Bristol) to further your career. Our apprentices are employed on a permanent basis, so you'll continue to progress with Arup once you've completed your course.

You will work towards an Environmental Practitioner (Degree) Apprenticeship Standard which includes a Professionally approved or accredited BSc or BA (Hons) Environmental Sciences degree (or equivalent degree title): 330 credits of which must be successfully completed prior to EPA Gateway. Exact delivery method for training to be confirmed.
