What you will do in your working day

We are looking for a Civil Engineering Apprentice to join our Ground Engineering team.
  • You will help a team including engineers and other professionals to assess, design and supervise civil engineering works. Projects and designs will come in all shapes and sizes, and could involve highways, bridges, and rail schemes
  • You will help us to deliver effective and professional services for a range of varied and high-profile clients. While you will have a great deal of responsibility from day one, we will give you the chance to take on more as you progress and broaden your skillsand experience
  • There will be opportunity to develop a strong base in ground engineering, problem solve and develop designs, or specialise in areas such as numerical modelling, seismic, risk and resilience, or sustainability
  • You will focus on geotechnical aspects at all stages of the project lifecycle, including desk studies, ground investigation, analysis & design,carbon management, construction supervision & monitoring, and asset management
  • You will work as part of multi-disciplinary teams to help us deliver effective and professional services for a range of varied and high-profile clients, as well as local authorities and many others
  • There will be opportunities to work on early-stage feasibility studies through to detailed design where you will contribute to developing and analysing 3D design models to deliver successful outcomes for our clients

The training you will be getting

Level 6 Degree Apprenticeships have a typical duration of 3- 6 years, during which you will attain both a professional and academic qualification (Civil Engineering - LSBU) to further your career.

Your study pattern could be day or block release, or via distance learning, depending on the course that you enrol on.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Our apprentices are employed on a permanent basis, soyou'llcontinue to progress with Arup onceyou'vecompleted your course.
