What you will do in your working day

Logistics is more than getting the product from A to B. At DHL Supply Chain we combine management and value-added services with our customised, integrated logistics solutions which drive resilience, and efficiency, improve quality, and create competitive advantage. Our Data Teams assist the operational and Functional Teams in creating meaningful data which allows informed decisions to be made to ensure we are operating with financial and KPI agreed terms

Working with a DHL team within a small warehouse in a prison setting working on the Retail contract directly for HMPPS/Ministry of Justice (MOJ). Working alongside offenders, enabling them to pick, pack, and distribute orders. Apprentices will play an integral and empowering role in offender's lives, where you will work with a diverse team to support their rehabilitation in a warehouse environment.

Duties will include:
  • Completing one-to-ones with the Offenders
  • Guiding them through Safe systems of work and processes within the warehouse environment
  • Resource planning - ensuring all roles within the warehouse domain are covered in order to process all of the daily orders.
  • Ensuing stocking levels are correct to meet daily demand from suppliers
  • Continuous Improvement - working leaner and smarter
  • Ensuring compliance of process for MOJ regulations

The training you will be getting
  • As part of the Level 6 Supply Chain Degree Apprenticeship, they will complete the learning on campus at Aston University and on-site learning at their dedicated DHL Supply Chain site

  • We want Apprentices to build their careers, with the option to complete a further Apprenticeship after completing the Inventory Management (Supply Chain practitioner) Level 3
  • Apprentices can contribute their ideas to influence the success of our business and be a part of an organisation that makes an impact on society as well as on the world of logistics
  • After your programme you will transition into the Alumni community to continue the growth of your career
