About the apprenticeship

Duties

JOB PURPOSE
To present and prepare the Canolfan and Library for use by our customers and visitors
Welcoming and helping visitors and users at each centre.
KEY TASKS/PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Ensure the Centre and its grounds is well presented and accessible to visitors and members of the Canolfan and the Library.
Moving equipment and faciliities to enable the centre to flexibly offer a range of activities.
Make regular checks of the premises reporting or dealing with defects and issues that impact on our users'experience.
Undertake Reception duties that include welcoming visitors, operating our payment and checkin system and sharing information in a helpful and friendly manner.
Undertake cleaning and clearing duties within the centre to ensure equipment and the building and surrounding area is safe and suitable for use.
Participate in the centre programme of activity, coaching and instruction to improve users' experience.
Undertake admin duties as and when required.

Skills

Essential
Has a passion for working with communities in the Seiriol area of East Anglesey.
An interest is supporting others to participate in sport and physical activity.
Customer focused.
Relates well to people.
Good communication skills.
Courteous and efficient manner.
Good time management
Flexible with a can do attitude.
IT and Social media skills
Flexible with a can do attitude.
Keen to participate in training and takes an interest in their own personal development, including the willingness to learn welsh.
Willing to work days, evenings and weekends on occasions.
Desirable
Sports or fitness Coaching qualification.
Experience of working with Children
Experience of working with vulnerable adults.
Physical ability to manually handle sports and other equipment.
Good verbal and written skills in the welsh language.
Experience of assisting with or leading sport coaching sessions.
Experience of building or facilities maintenance
Qualified first aider, training will be given
Awareness of Health and Safety in a leisure centre setting or similar, training will be given.
