The IT, Software, Web & Telecoms Professionals Apprenticeship provides learners with the knowledge and skills to undertake roles within telecoms and IT. The Apprenticeship consists of 5 separate modules, all of which must be passed.

The Apprentices will be involved with, as well as managed organisational wide deployments of IT projects. This includes:

  • Deploying new portable devices - Microsoft Surface Pro devices
  • Deploying new mobile phone devices - Apple iPhones
  • Implementing and Deploying Meeting/Collaboration devices - Microsoft Surface Hubs
  • Creating and maintaining a SharePoint website displaying information for our new office build - Microsoft SharePoint
  • Deploying a new version of Office applications - Microsoft Office 2016 365
  • Repurposing our IT storerooms

The Apprentices are also involved with daily duties and tasks, including:

  • Resolving break fix incidents with SLA's as a Second Line Support Technician
  • Delivering Service Requests to customers
  • Packaging Applications to be deployed to customers (Microsoft App-V and MSI)
  • IT Device Audit across the entire site
  • Ensuring security compliance on all devices
  • Various IT tasks using Microsoft System Center - Configuration Manager (Application Deployment, Building Devices, Software Updates, etc)

Having attained, or working towards a level 3 qualification (e.g. A levels, Level 3 Apprenticeship, etc.)

Things to consider From October 1st 2015 the National Minimum Wage (NMW) for Apprentices is £3.30 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the National Minimum Wage appropriate to their age applies. The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent training. Training on the Apprenticeships Programme for 16 to 18 year olds is a priority and fully-funded by Government. Training for Apprenticeships for those over this age is part funded, with employers expected to make a part or full contribution.
