Cooper Tires are looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual to successfully complete our 4 year acknowledged Apprenticeship programme to become an integral part of our large engineering/maintenance department

Working as part of a large Engineering Maintenance Team this vacancy will train the candidate in order to undertake both Planned Maintenance Tasks and Reactive Breakdown Tasks to include:

  • Electrical installation
  • Electrical fault finding
  • PLC fault finding
  • Electrical TPM skills

Complemented by formal Advanced Apprenticeship training via Wiltshire College (Chippenham) with potential to progress to HNC/HND level.

Qualifications required

GCSE grades C and above in Maths Physics, English Design & Technology - Ideally at least 7 GCSE passes in total (or equivalent) - minimum Grade B in Maths.

Future prospects Fully Qualified Shift Engineer.

Things to consider Incremental wage increases based on performance. The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
