We are a commercial, dispute resolution and private client firm based in the heart of London's West End. This is an exciting opportunity to join a friendly and forward thinking firm to qualify as a solicitor on successful completion of the Apprenticeship, without the debt of attending university full time.

Our solicitor apprentice will work in different departments of the firm over the six-year period.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Progressing legal matters and transactions
  • Applying legal knowledge and commercial judgement to produce solutions which meet clients' needs and address their commercial or personal circumstances
  • Deploying the full range of legal skills - research, interviewing and advising, negotiation, drafting, communicating orally and in writing
  • Establishing and maintaining effective and professional relationships with clients and other people
  • Managing yourself and your work effectively
  • Working with the legal team to complete transaction processes
  • Processing contracts, amending documents where necessary, and ensuring that files are kept up to date
  • Assisting with drafting

The ideal candidate will have the confidence to deal with various individuals and groups.

You will be supported to undertake recognised qualifications whilst gaining invaluable on-the-job experience.

You will need to be a team player, reliable, adaptable, conscientious, and able to work to instructions.

Qualifications required

Essential:

  • GCSE grades *A to C or equivalent are essential
  • Minimum A in GCSE Mathematics and English
  • 3 A Levels grade B or above or equivalent

Future prospects After your Apprenticeship, you will be a qualified solicitor. You will take on more levels of responsibility, building your technical legal skills.

Other Information: • This is a monthly paid post and you are required to work a month in hand and you will be entitled to receive statutory minimum annual leave. The salary will be in the region of £18,000 per annum dependent upon age and qualifications. • You are responsible for funding your own travel to and from your place of work. • You must conduct yourself in a safe and diligent manner and comply with health and safety policies and procedures. • You must uphold and promote the company policies and procedures, promoting those specifically to your area of work, including Equality and Diversity and Safeguarding. The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
