To co-ordinate work experience placements across Stockport NHS Foundation Trust. Liaising with schools, colleges and placement managers to deliver an effective programme. In addition encouraging the recruitment of people who have difficulty finding work through supported employment opportunities.

Work Experience Administrator

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Engage with wards and departments across the Trust to encourage the provision of work experience placements
  • Liaise with students, schools and colleges
  • Responsibility for co-ordinating the admin related tasks of the work experience programme
  • To coordinate the induction of placements on their first day with the Trust
  • Prepare and keep statistical records
  • Promote the work experience scheme within the Trust website.
  • Attend meetings and events as required
  • To deal with telephone enquiries.
  • Support the production of communications material with positive articles around work experience and supported employment opportunities

Analysis and data management

  • To assist and produce work experience activity reports as required
  • Word processing of documents, letters and ad hoc reports
  • Creation and maintenance of Excel spreadsheets, providing information in the most appropriate format.
  • Use of internal email system, interpreting and acting on emails received
  • To have access to personal files, ensuring all information is stored / maintained confidentially, adhering to Trust policy

Communications and Leadership

  • To provide and receive complex and sensitive and contentious information
  • To exercise judgement when dealing with both internal and external contacts
  • To communicate with staff, managers and the public, both written and verbally in a professional, courteous, sensitive manner, maintaining confidentiality at all times
  • To deal effectively with enquiries both face-to-face and by telephone

Planning and organising

  • To organise workload independently and change priorities to accommodate immediate needs of the project
  • To meet deadlines in a calm and effective manner despite frequent interruptions from staff, telephone and visitors to the department

Arrange and organise meetings and provide administrative support

General Duties

  • To assist the Trust in reducing healthcare associated infections you should be familiar with the Trust's Hand Decontamination Policy, attend mandatory training in Infection Prevention & Control and be compliant with all hand hygiene standards at all times
  • Observe the provisions of and adhere to all Trust policies and procedures
  • To maintain confidentiality and abide by the Data Protection Act
  • To be familiar with and follow health and safety policy and procedures and to aware of individual responsibilities under legislation, drawing any areas of potential risk to the attention of managers

To undertake any other duties which is deemed appropriate to the grade when requested by Senior Staff

  • Experience in a public sector organisation is desirable

Qualifications required

A level standard education or equivalent

(Minimum) English and Maths GCSE A - C or equivalent

Future prospects This is an initial 12 month contract.

Things to consider Applicants will need to be able to demonstrate a good level of Business Administration skills.
