What you'll be doing

You'll work to achieve a Level 6 Apprenticeship in Digital & Technology Solutions which will be the equivalent to a Degree. You'll receive a full company induction, on the job training plan, development and support from Nationwide as well as your own Training Provider Assessor. You'll have the opportunity to do all the tasks required as a team member and have all the coaching and support that you need to ensure you succeed and shine in your new job.

We have opportunities in several different teams and you could find yourself involved in any of the following:

  • Developing technical support skills to deal with IT incidents
  • Working with new monitoring tools to configure or set up service views
  • Collating, analysing and assessing data to build data models for service dashboards
  • Meeting lead users from business areas to establish their reporting requirements on IT Service performance
  • Reviewing processes and looking for opportunities to refine and improve them
  • Collaborating with other IT teams on ways to automate manual operational tasks
  • Creating knowledge articles for Enterprise Command Centre teams to follow

You'll be working in a team, with a wide range of support. Whilst you'll take responsibility for your own work, you'll be able to escalate any issues to your colleagues when appropriate.

Requirements and prospects Desired skills

As a minimum requirement you'll:

  • Have obtained or be predicted to obtain 280+ UCAS points
  • Have achieved a Grade ‘C' in Maths and English Language GCSE
  • Need to be living in the UK
  • Be enthusiastic and keen to continuously learn and improve
  • Show excellent communications skills
  • Be a good team player

It would be nice if you also had:

  • The ability to interpret large volumes of data
  • Good attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

You need to have a keen desire to learn new information, processes and to improve yourself and your skills. In return, you'll be provided with the training and support you need to perform strongly in this role. You'll have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. It's important that you have strong computer skills, particularly Word, PowerPoint and Excel. You may also have experience of using other software packages as you will get the opportunity to learn how to use pieces of software and applications that you've not used before.
