Site Carpentry Apprenticeship
This is a varied role and involves working for a well known Norfolk visitor attraction. The company are looking for an enthusiastic apprentice to work alongside a fully qualified carpenter as part of the Maintenance team. The work will involve learning all aspects of site carpentry and the work varies on a day to day basis. This can include:
- Making alterations to office accommodation such as building new studwork, hanging doors, fitting locks, hinges and handles, fitting skirting and architrave, building new attractions, structures, canopies, climbing frames and fences around the park, assisting with fencing, replacing fencing and rails, carrying out general repairs and general labouring.
Evidence of good practical skills required.Personal qualities

GCSE grade D or equivalent qualifications required in Maths and English.Future prospects There may be an opportunity for the apprentice to be taken on permanently as a Site Carpenter as part of the Maintenance team at the end of the apprenticeship. Things to consider The training for this apprenticeship will be on a day release basis and will take place at Construction Training Specialists Ltd, Unit A, Frenbury Industrial Estate, Hellesdon Park Road, Norwich, NR6 5DP. This role will entail working outdoors in all weathers. It is a fairly physical role and involves working to high standards. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
