Apprentice School Administrator
Ashford Oaks Community Primary School has 450 children ranging from nursery age through to Yr6. The Ethos of the school is to love the children while providing a fun and exciting curriculum.
We are looking for a friendly, polite and sociable person with excellent communication skills. This role is based in the school office and will therefore make you, along with the rest of the team, the first port of call to parents, visitors and children.

You will deal with people at the desk, answer telephone calls, take messages, assist with entering data such as registration marks, school dinner orders, information about children including new admissions.
Weekly wage £145.00
Monday to Friday 8.30am – 4.30pm
One day per week to finish at 1.30pm for study time
Weekly hours paid 37
Term Time Only
Half an hour for lunch paid
Desired skills include working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Publisher.
We use SIMS as our management information system and Fastrak/sQuid for school dinners. The successful candidate will be trained how to use this while working.
The right candidate will need to be able to work in a busy, and sometimes noisy environment. They will need to be approachable, patient and helpful with a can-do attitude.
Approachable, friendly, works well in a team and under pressure. A clear love of children.
We ask that the successful candidate has GCSE grade C (or equivalent) in Maths and English
On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Standard – consisting of the Intermediate NVQ Level, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills if appropriate.
Regular work based assessments/observations carried out by Kent Training & Apprenticeships Tutor Assessor, to determine competency and meet with Awarding Body standards.
The employer has asked that you do not contact them direct. Doing so could jeopardise your application. You will be responsible for your travel expenses to and from your place of work. Therefore, you must have the means to get to your place of work on a daily basis whilst waiting for your first wages to be paid.
