Duties include: Auditing - Develop an understanding of Freight terms and conditions of carriage to include incoterms. Ability to calculate Freight charges. Implementation - Develop fluency in the application of various software tools, with regards to project management. Customer Service - Record standard Operation Procedures to ensure compliance.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Auditing - Develop an understanding of Freight terms and conditions of carriage to include incoterms. Ability to calculate Freight charges based on Commodity, weight, Volume and Dimensions and negotiating Freight rates.
  • Implementation - Develop fluency in the application of various software tools, with regards to project management. Develop an understanding of numerous methodologies to facilitate operational improvements, including Prince II.
  • Customer Service - Record standard Operation Procedures to ensure compliance with set templates. Develop an understanding of mapping and communications with regards to EDI.

  • Prioritise, manage and deliver to deadlines against the competing demands of multi client and varied caseloads.
  • Scrutinise and interrogate supply chain information.
  • Communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing) to deliver information.
  • Understand how to develop and implement organisational strategy and plans, including approaches to resource and supply chain management workforce.
  • Know how to manage change through the development and application of projects within the Organisation.

  • To conduct themselves in a professional way at all times commensurate with the post of a management degree apprenticeship.
  • Ability to work as part of team and otherwise integrate and work with all other members of staff. use of active listening and open questioning to structure conversations and discussions.
  • Have a demonstrable ability to work to the highest level of accuracy.
  • Be able to communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing) and be able to utilise all communication media to deliver information.
  • Familiarity and good working knowledge of all Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Access software. Office 365 Products.
  • Able to build rapport and trust, develop networks and maintain relationships with people from a range of cultures, backgrounds and levels.
  • Know how to undertake research, data analysis, problem solving and decision making techniques.

Qualifications required
  • To have at least 4 GCSE's or equivalent including Maths and English. IT qualification desirable.
  • Good A levels, B/TEC or an equivalent Level 3 qualification, or equivalent work experience.
  • Prior paid or voluntary work experience preferable.

Things to consider Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.50 per hour from 1st April 2017. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
