Job description Multi Award Winning, Global, Print and Technology solutions brand are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate DBA Apprentice to join their organisation in their Infrastructure Services team. The successful applicants will study for a Digital Degree Apprenticeship on the DBA specialist stream.

Main Duties
The IT Database Administration Apprentice daily duties will include however not be limited to;

  • Support all elements for the ongoing operational efficiency across Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and MySQL Database Management Systems (DBMS)
  • Provide a supportive and collaborative approach whilst working with other departments including Infrastructure, Application support and Development teams
  • Prioritise problems based on severity and urgency and track all outstanding incidents until successful resolution or reallocation
  • Perform routine tasks for system maintenance as required
  • Conduct routine hardware, software and access control audits, and implement remediation activities to ensure compliance with IT Governance policies and procedures
  • Perform Database Management System installation in accordance with procedures defined by the Senior Database Administrator(s)
  • Perform root cause problem investigations and implement remediation as defined by the Senior Database Administrator(s)
  • Implement system changes as defined by established change control procedures following peer review
  • Maintain design, configuration and process documentation and accuracy of the configuration management database (CMDB) or equivalent

Qualifications

  • Minimum A levels in ICT/Business/Computing or an Advanced Apprenticeship in a similar subject or an International Baccalaureate at Level 3 in ICT or a BTEC Extended Diploma in IT (180 credits).
Future prospects 92% of QA Apprentices secure permanent employment after finishing their apprenticeship. Additionally there may be opportunities to undertake further apprenticeship training as many of our programs offer on-going development tracks.
