►Wages explained

The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

    Future prospects On completion of this apprenticeship a full- time role would be offered if the business is in a position to do so. Things to consider Weekly Wage: The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.50 per hour from 01 April 2017. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged over 19 in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus off the job training. Weekly Wage: £3.50 an hour This could increase up to £4.50 an hour dependant on experience. The position will not involve any working away but will involve study for additional Microsoft examinations.
