Estio Training have an exciting opportunity for a level four IT apprentice at Talk Plus Business Systems based in Brighouse, Huddersfield.

Some of your duties and responsibilities in this role will include:

  • Provide level 1 support for all mobile, fixed line, VoIP and broadband customers
  • Provide troubleshooting and technical support via phone, web based tools and email.
  • Report faults to suppliers and networks.
  • Ensure all faults are chased up and resolved as soon as possible.
  • During problems act as liaison between customer and Tier 2 support (suppliers)
  • Guide customers on what products is right for them
  • Advise customers regarding the products proper use and address specific user issues.
  • Provide customer with information on what could make their connections run better or more efficient ways of doing a certain process.
  • Do site survey if necessary.
  • Assist the customer during installations - go to site if necessary.
  • Set up customer VoIP physically
  • Set up customer VoIP portals
  • Process orders for fixed lines and broadband connections
  • Keep the customer informed at all times.
  • IT support - External & Internal.
  • Software and hardware upgrades
  • Updating internal PC's
  • Maintain a good relationship with all our suppliers especially fixed and broadband suppliers (NTA, Nine and 2circles)
  • Make sure you have the latest information on all our product offerings. You will be able to support, troubleshoot and set up more effectively by knowing this.
  • Answer telephone, take messages or try to deal with the call.
  • Set up collections with UK mail when needed.
  • Be back up for the mobile side of the business, help out when needed.
  • Mobile set up and data transfer support.
  • Input data into Clarity.
  • All calls will be entered and tracked in online trouble ticket management systems

  • Strong technical and analytical skills
  • Solid experience in problem analysis and resolution of problems.
  • Proved ability to function in a self-directed environment
  • Innovative thinker who is positive, proactive, and readily embraces change.
  • Ability to handle clients professionally during all interfaces.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service in all situations. Ability to communicate technical terms in a non-technical format that our customers can understand for troubleshooting purposes.
  • Excellent telephone skills are essential in the day to day tasks, ability to keep calm in stressful situations is a must.
  • Proficient with Office/Photoshop/Mail chimp, with ability to learn new applications quickly.
  • Already experienced supporting IT customers in a commercial environment.
Personal qualities

We are looking for someone with experience managing and maintaining a small network with a basic understanding of well-known network protocols. Experience with Windows Server and related technologies.

Qualifications required
  • 5 GCSEs at grades A*- C or equivalent (including English Language and Maths)
Future prospects The role offers long term security and the opportunity to progress into a permanent position.
