dunnhumby is looking for a talented Apprentice - Payroll!

You will be part of a global payroll team that is responsible for managing the payroll services to the global employee population. Payroll is a critical employee service and the role of the Apprentice - Payroll, is to gain an in depth understanding of the end to end payroll processes with a specific focus on becoming a UK payroll specialist. However, the incumbent will also spend time with the global payroll team and will be working on different projects during their apprenticeship, dependent on allocated assignments. Apprentices at dunnhumby gain on the job experience as well as professional training that will contribute towards successful completion of their apprenticeship.

What you'll be doing:

Work alongside a great team of global payroll specialist's, supporting the payroll of 31 countries.

Work on a combination of tasks, varying from day to day business to more complex projects.

Support the monthly end to end payroll cycles gaining a day to day knowledge of the dunnhumby UK payroll process.

Review variances in the payroll files and highlight these to a more senior team member to support in taking action.

Gain an overview of the global payroll processes, working with the global team and global vendors where applicable.

Where applic able, participate in payroll projects, including documenting the payroll process, global payroll transition and setting up new country payrolls.

Respond to queries of employees through problem solving and trouble shooting with the relevant members of the global payroll team to get to the root cause of any queries received.

Participate in assigned training and development programmes to help acquire and further develop skills and knowledge.

Support the global HR services and payroll team as and when required on ad hoc activities if needed.

Actively demonstrate dunnhumby values and behaviours.

What you'll need:

  • 5 or more GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C (or equivalent) or above, including Maths, English and Science.
  • Passionate about payroll. Self-motivated and able to work as part of a team.

  • A plus if you also have:
    3 A Levels, at least one in Maths
