As part of our client-facing finance team, you will be responsible for delivering our services to a portfolio of diverse clients predominantly in the London and south east region. With technical accounting experience, you will be close to the detail and instrumental to ensuring all client deliverables are accurate and timely, including management accounts, annual financial statements and technical accounting questions.

You will be responsible for providing a premium client service that is absolutely second to none. Just like your clients, you will also be an instrumental part of a new and growing business.

Roles and responsibilities:
  • Supporting the client onboarding journey
  • Working with new and exciting technology within an accounting firm
  • Finance system design and build and working with data structures
  • Supporting the design of rich bespoke client management information
  • Completing period end close procedures on behalf of clients (or supporting flinder team members in the process) and preparing management accounts/information
  • Reviewing close activities e.g. reconciliations, vat returns, prepayments/accruals, andjournals
  • Using and reporting from cloud accounting systems (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, Sage One/Live)
  • Preparing and/or reviewing the monthly/quarterly accounts
  • Investigating and responding to technical accounting queries
  • Point of contact for client for any finance related matters
  • Ad-hoc work which might include developing or tracking budgets to actuals
  • Technical support to flinder business advisors in delivery of their portfolios
  • Liaising with the client and developing strong working relationships

  • Excellent organisational skills and be able to work to deadlines
  • Good knowledge and experience using the MS Office suite, particularly Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills
  • Wants to pursue a career in Finance and has a passion for Accounting

Desired qualifications

  • Five GCSE (or equivalent) grades A*-C/9-4, including English and maths
  • Good knowledge of IT packages e.g Microsoft Office, Google Docs/Sheets, etc.
  • Level 3 qualification (BTEC, NVQ, or equivalent)

Future prospects

After your Accounting apprenticeship, progress into a full-time role.
