Vacancy Description

We have an exciting opportunity to join our business as an Accounts Assistant Apprentice reporting to the Head of Accounting. The role would suit someone who is looking to start their finance career whilst also studying towards an Accounts Assistant Apprentice CIMA Level 7 Apprenticeship. The role will involve studying as well ongoing support and training on the job.

Whilst studying, the overall of the purpose of the role is to support the day to day activates of the Accounting team and provide cover where appropriate.

Month End:
  • Assist with month end closing tasks (Accruals, Prepayments, Balance Sheet reconciliations (Inventory GRIR, VAT, Interco, Accrual/Prepayment, Bank reconciliations etc)
  • Prepare monthly cost centre pack
  • Fixed asset accounting - Processing of fixed asset invoices in the ERP system and reconcile the asset sub ledger to the GL on a monthly basis

Reporting:
  • Preparing VAT and Intrastat returns for the UK and Ireland
  • Assist in the preparation of the UK and Irish Corporation Tax
  • Assist in the preparation of the UK Statutory Accounts
  • UK & Irish National Statutory Reporting

LICS Compliance:
  • Preparing and collating samples for Internal Control testing
  • Support in the testing of the LICS Self-assessments

Year End Audit:
  • Assist with Interim and Year End audit preparation

Product Costing:
  • Review the standard costs of all new products and ensure the correct data is maintained in MDG/SAP
  • Follow up with the right teams to get accurate information on time

Bank:
  • Uploading Bank data to SAP
  • Bank clear downs
  • Retail clear down

Other:
  • Processing of invoices and bank transactions


Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Good Excel Skills (pivots tables, vlookup) including knowledge of Excel Spreadsheets
  • Have a strong communication and networking skills
  • Be performance driven, tenacious and goal orientated.
  • Be able to work cross functionally both internally and externally in a fast paced environment

Desired qualifications

GCSE's, or equivalents,Grades (A-C/9-4) Including maths and English.

Minimum 3 A Levels (A - C) In relevant Subjects including:
