A full time fixed term vacancy has arisen for a Finance Administration Clerk to work at the Sainsbury's site in Northampton reporting to the Commercial Manager. The role will assist in all aspects of administration for both the open and closed operations operating from the site.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Using Oracle to create and manage purchase orders for the site for both Wincanton and Sainsbury's
  • Producing weekly expenditure reports
  • Reviewing aged orders and taking appropriate action
  • Actively reviewing and resolving DFM queries
  • Raising and posting sales invoices
  • Assisting in creating weekly recharge sheets
  • Assisting in weekly accounts production
  • Assisting with Sainsbury's and Wincanton period ends
  • Providing onsite admin support
  • To carry out ad hoc work and analysis as required


Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Excellent PC skills with a competent knowledge of Excel
  • Possess a high level of numeric skills with the ability to question and investigate operational and financial data
  • Must be comfortable dealing with internal/external suppliers and customers and senior operational management


Personal qualities

  • Able to work under pressure and the ability to meet time critical targets and deadlines
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Flexible with a high level of both self and team motivation to work on a demanding contract is essential
  • Ability to work as part of a team with a positive attitude
  • Must be organised with excellent communication skills and confident in dealing with problems and challenges
  • Ability to work on own initiative


Desired qualifications

  • Minimum 5 GCSEs including maths and English at grade 4/C(or equivalent)and above;
  • 3 A Levels including at least one of the following: maths, business studies or accounting (or equivalent qualifications)
