What you will do in your working day
  • Support the implementation of effective project management - preparing business cases, objectives, delivery, project plans, scheduling, reviews and lessons learnt.
  • Provide support to manage risk - identify and prioritise threats, opportunities, mitigating and minimising impacts and optimising benefits.
  • Contract management and procurement - gain experience of contracts, procurement processes and legal and ethical principles.
  • Produce routine basic information in response to a request.
  • Help others in dealing with enquiries from customers (on the telephone and face to face).
  • Office duties - carry out photocopying duties, assist with the processing of invoices and charges related to the service area and deal with incoming and outgoing post
  • Assist with data input using electronic systems.


The training you will be getting
  • Gain a qualification: International Project Management Association (IPMA) level D
  • You will attend a training provider on block release. You'll also be allocated a Life Coach who will visit you within the work place assisting you with your studies.
  • Gain a Health & Safety qualification
  • Attend enrichment activities to enhance your awareness and knowledge eg finance, health & wellbeing, disability etc

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
  • Gain a Level 4 Associate Project Management Apprenticeship standard
  • With high retention levels and being a large employer there would be a chance to move onto a higher level apprenticeship or full time employment, gaining support in interview techniques training
  • 2 year work experience in the public sector with exposure to Senior management
