What you will do in your working day
As a civil engineering apprentice in our Tunnelling team, you will help support work on all aspects of tunnel construction, ranging from feasibility studies to detailed design and site based supervision roles. Working on those designs involves undertaking calculations and computer analysis to work out the size of the structure, whilst working closely with the contractor to make sure that what is built complies with the drawings,design and health and safety requirements.
The training you will be getting
You will attend Kingston University to study a Civil Engineering degree apprenticeship and gain either a BEng or BSc, as well as your Incorporated Engineer status with the Institution of Civil Engineers. You will also be enrolled onto a bespoke internal development scheme to support you to attain the knowledge, skills and behaviour to achieve your apprenticeship.
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
As this is a permanent position, after gaining your degree, WSP will continue to be committed to your learning and development throughout your career with us. You will have the opportunity to get Chartered status with the Institution of Civil Engineers, as well as the chance to study towards a Masters.

BTEC or equivalent Ext L3 Civil Engineering including further maths (Grade DDM or above) Desired
