Start Date
Working initially as an Apprentice Engineer, you will be exposed to various aspects of civil engineering and have opportunities for professional technical training.You will develop skills in AutoCAD and other civil engineering software and have the opportunity to undertake day-release education to obtain engineering academic qualifications through to graduation.

Key responsibilities/Duties will include:
  • Use of CAD
  • Use of other design programs
  • Highway design support
  • Drainage design support
  • Utility Coordination & Management

Desired skills

  • A Be computer literate in MS Office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Have the ability to work well in a team and to work on their own initiative
  • Have a keen interest in Civil Infrastructure
  • Have sound communication skills, Attention to details, Organisation skills, Problem Solving skills, Number skills, Analytical skills, Creative and Initiative

Personal qualities

The successful candidate will be a positive, enthusiastic and proactive team player.

Desired qualifications

  • Minimum DMM in BTEC Extended Diploma in Engineering
  • Minimum grade B/6 in maths, Further maths, and/or a science at A Level

Future prospects

All our Apprentices will be set assignments, work on real and live projects, build a portfolio of evidence and have development reviews with their line manager. Our learning will help you achieve the Apprentice attributes and the Professional Standards required of an Engineering Technician. As an Apprentice you will also complete off-the-job training which will include; day release at collage, practical training, shadowing, mentoring and site visits.
