Start Date
Duties will include:
  • To design and develop new products as required and to project manage through to completion
  • To design and develop enhancements to the existing product range
  • To design products to customer requirements and to project manage through to completion
  • To source and procure materials for products within the given budget
  • To support other departments where required on issues of a technical nature
  • Provide technical support for customers, which may involve site visits of both a national and international nature
  • The productionand maintenance of technical documentation as required, including CAD drawings, costing data, technical construction files, design calculations, bills of materials, technical specifications, marketing literature, test data etc.
  • To ensure that products meet all mandatory legislation
  • Constant interrogation of product design to identify and implement cost savings and performance improvement
  • To assist the Head of Engineering/other Engineers as required
  • Production of detailed written work instructions for manufacture and installation of products
  • Technical drawings to accompany work instructions and quotations
  • To compile instructions manuals for new and existing products
  • To compile technical data on new and existing products
  • Design calculations
  • Development of standard products to streamline production
  • Creation of new parts and bills of materials
  • Liaising with the other departments and external contractors
  • Site surveys

Desired qualifications

  • Must comply with course requirements, typically a GCSE grade C/4 or above in English and mathematics or an equivalent qualification, plus one from:
  • An A-level pass in maths or Science
  • A BTEC Level 3 in Engineering
  • Completion of a Level 3 Engineering Apprenticeship
