Start Date
Duties to include:
  • To maintain the supply of consumables and reagents in the Quality Control lab
  • Assist in the QC analysis of production raw materials, aroma and non-aroma products, intermediates, sourced product samples, in process testing of distillation fractions
  • Record results in QC files and on the QCDB, and transfer locations on PMS
  • Compile QC files and create the associated specifications for new products, intermediates and raw materials
  • To conduct the calibration, maintenance and performance verification of all analytical equipment on site
  • To maintain the most appropriate storage conditions and shelf life status for all finished products by recording retest results and regularly reviewing them
  • Comply with all company procedures and legislative requirements for chemicals handling and plant operation by utilising the correct PPE and other relevant control measures
  • Be aware of relevant COSHH and Risk assessments for the activities they undertake
  • Prevent wastage of materials and energy resources by the operation of environmentally sound working practices

Desired qualifications

  • You must possess a minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) - grades A - C including Science, maths and English
  • You must have gained a minimum of 104 UCAS points at A-level (grades; B,C,C), with one being Chemistry. Equivalent qualifications such as BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma, DDM, in a scientific discipline is also acceptable

  • On successful completion of the apprenticeship, candidates will be able to apply for further positions

  • The apprentice must be able to demonstrate the required attitudes, behaviours and interpersonal skills associated with the professional workplace.
  • Although 20% of working hours will be allocated to study time, the apprentice must be willing to commit a significant amount of personal time to study.
