This is a unique opportunity for a qualified Early Years Practitioner / Nursery Nurse. You will be working towards the New Apprenticeship Standard at Level 4 "Children, Young People and Families Practitioner". This would be a development step and progression route for anyone interested in working towards their Level 5 Foundation Degree in "Children, Young People and Families Manager".
Your role will to be to implement appropriate planned schemes of activities, work and programmes for children in partnership with the Senior Team and to deliver programmes of work and evaluate their success in conjunction with the Senior Nursery Nurses. Ensuring that personal, physical, social, spiritual, emotional, cultural and moral needs are adequately addressed and to actively involved in supporting children in their achievements of planned objectives and goals.

Things to consider

- To be responsible for the care, welfare, health, safety and security of children, supervising activities and routines, giving specific help to individual children to ensure that they remain focussed
- To be flexible within working practises of the nursery. Be prepared to help where needed including to undertake certain domestic duties e.g. preparation of snack meals, cleansing of equipment, good housekeeping
- Actively participate in Training Programmes, attending Professional Development activities as appropriate and to make training courses provided by the Nursery a high priority
Requirements and prospects

- IT literate with good keyboard skills and knowledge of Microsoft packages
- Qualified to Level 3 in a Diploma in Early Years / Childcare
- Minimum of 12 months experience in a childcare environment

Desired qualifications

Future prospects
- Progression within the nursery to team/room leader and the Level 5 Children Young People Families Manger qualification
Things to consider
- The nursery is located in the countryside just off the A69 between Newcastle and Corbridge. They can be reached by public transport however this is not a frequent service. Although easily reached if you drive or have access the transport daily
- The nursery are open 50 weeks of the year from 7.30 am - 6 pm Monday to Friday excluding bank holidays. Shift patterns in in place to cover theses hours
