We are now looking for an apprentice data analyst who will be responsible for delivering solutions and providing customer support using a state of the art self-service data analytics tool. There will also be the opportunity for the apprentice data analyst to support our data analytics training strategy across the company. The successful candidate will have a desire to pursue a career in data analytics and a passion to effect change.

In this newly created position, the apprentice data analyst will support their team leader's interactions with a diverse array of functions across Square Enix, from Sales & Marketing to Production and User Research to help them identify opportunities and develop data based solutions. Since the successful candidate will use their analytical capabilities to define requirements based on clientproblems and propose solutions, they must be capable of effectively communicating ideas.

This is an apprentice role in our Analytics department and represents a great opportunity for the successful candidate to grow with the company as we shape our digital future. If you have the ambition to make a real difference and have the requisite skills, we would love to hear from you.

Day to day duties will include;
  • Work towards a Level 4 qualification in Data Analytics
  • Collaborate with Analytics & Insight Service Specialist and Square Enix's teams to create requirements for the solutions that will help them taking data-driven decisions
  • Implement and deliver solutions with exceptional quality using the self-service data analytics tool
  • Create appropriate documentation to support the usage of solutions
  • Autonomously identify opportunities and optimisations to the solutions delivered
  • Be able to communicate and share your findings with the team and stakeholders
  • Provide continuous support on the solutions delivered
  • Help provide a collaborative environment in which the teams contribute to the shape of solutions delivered
  • Prioritise own work as necessary
  • Clearly communicates schedule and priorities to Analytics and Insight Service Specialist and stakeholders


Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Desire to develop data analytics skills using state of the art tools
  • Basic understanding of statistics, business intelligence, data analytics, scientific method and programming
  • Basic experience into writing and/or understanding SQL queries
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines

  • You have good communication and presentation skills
  • Fast-paced learner with strong adaptive capabilities
  • Mathematically minded self-starter with a keen eye for detail
  • A real passion and interest in video games and data analytics

Desired qualifications

  • At least five GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C / 4 or above including maths, English and either IT or Science.
  • Ideally, you will have either a minimum of two A levels (or equivalent) a Level 3 Apprenticeship qualification or Level 3 BTEC


Future prospects

The successful candidate can expect to progress into a permanent position if they hit all goals set and pass the apprentice

Things to consider

  • Applications from graduates are welcomed, however, we are unable to accept applications for this apprenticeship if you have a degree in Computer Science or related subject.
  • Our office is based in Central London (SE1).There will be some travel involved to our international Studio locations including California and Montreal.
