- Designing test strategies and test cases from requirements, design documents and specifications
- Estimating test case writing and execution effort and keeping track of own progress
- Test case authoring and holding test case reviews with stakeholders, if needed
- Execution of test cases including functional and regression tests for both web applications and backend enterprise applications
- Identifying regression test candidates for automation and automating those test cases
- Improving and maintaining the existing automated tests and adding new automated tests
- Understanding and implementing coding standards in test automation
- Reporting defects, tracking, validating, and closing
- Recording test results and reporting them
- Participation in daily scrum meetings and weekly test team meetings
- Show passion and drive to improve team processes by providing new ideas and solutions
- Ensure all deliverables are well documented, re-usable, and reviewed
Requirements and prospects
Desired skills
- Passion for testing. Experience and a desire to focus in Automation Testing using Selenium and Selenium Webdrivers.
- Scripting and programming abilities in Java
- SQL Skills
- Knowledge of software development processes, information architecture, web development and associated technologies
- Familiarity with automated testing and non-functional testing tools and techniques
- Experience using bug-tracking software
- Knowledge of the many different facets of test analysis, functionality, usability, accessibility, load and integration testing, compliance, security and client/user acceptance testing
- Experience of diagnosing, reporting, tracking and resolving quality issues
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to manage a workload covering a wide range of projects across a team
- Quick thinker, able to pre-empt and identify problems and carry out solutions quickly
- Enthusiastic with the ability to be proactive, motivated and autonomous and to work in a collaborative manner with colleagues
- Strong communication skills
- Good team player
- Strong analytical skills

Desired qualifications
- At least five GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C or above including maths, English and either IT or Science.
- Ideally, you will have either a minimum of two A levels (or equivalent) a Level 3 Apprenticeship qualification or Level 3 BTEC
