Principal Accountabilities:
  • Under guidance you will be responsible for the successful completion of allocated Test execution activities for a given project and ensuring that these results are captured in accordance with the Test team's working practices
  • You will be responsible for working to a Test Plan and reporting progress against this
  • You will be required to participate in project meetings and report progress and provide defect status updates as appropriate
  • Develop domain knowledge over time

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Background: What experience needed in order to be able to do the job?
  • Can demonstrate basic understanding of all phases of System Testing and articulate how these fit into the wider project lifecycle
  • Will be expected to understand business regulatory requirements, undertake Industry Accreditation Testing and ensure that IS systems comply with all relevant legislation in force at that time (DPA, PCI-DSS etc)
  • Basic knowledge of one or more of the following methodologies: V-Model, Waterfall/RUP, Agile, XP
  • Evidence of working within multi skilled teams and establishing close working relationship with team members on all levels
  • Commercial Acumen - Understands where the business has to move in the future and how to implement business initiatives to maximise our competitive advantage
  • Influencing - Uses appropriate interpersonal styles and methods to inspire and guide individuals. Effective use of negotiation skills
  • Customer Focus - Identifies and understands the (internal and/or external) customer's needs and strives to provide a world-class service
  • Networking - Works effectively to build contacts and relationships with individuals outside own area of specialism in order to be able to access support and information when required

Personal qualities

Desired qualifications

  • Minimum 5 GCSE's grade A-C/9-4 (or equivalent) including English Language and maths
  • 2 A Levels (or equivalent) in a relevant subjectis desirable
  • Relevant professional qualification or IT focussed degree desirable.
  • Extensive experience of working on Test Delivery Projects in a complex multi-channel architecture
  • beeISEB Testing (Foundation)


Future prospects

  • It is anticipated that you will progress onto a degree apprenticeship after successful completion of the Level 4 standard.
