A well established Accountancy Practice based in central London is currently seeking to recruit an aspiring accountant of the future with a CFAB qualification on offer. The role is to provide administration and accounting support to the personal tax department whilst training to gain technical knowledge and experience within the accountancy field.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the preparation of tax returns
  • Dealing with client communications in respect of their tax affairs including drafting letters and emails and speaking to clients on the telephone whilst maintaining quality client service
  • Assisting in the completion of various tax forms - ensuring all are compliant with tax regulations
  • Preparation of simple accounting statements
  • Monitoring client deadlines Technical research
  • Corresponding with tax authorities and third parties on a daily basis on a wide variety of tax matters
  • Any other duties as may be required to ensure the efficient running of the office
Requirements and prospects Desired skills
  • Applicants must be comfortable working with figures, accurate and understand the significance of calculations
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Computer literate, with an aptitude towards spreadsheets and word processing - comfortable with Apple software
Personal qualities
  • Some work experience in business or an accountancy practice is desirable, but an aptitude to the work is more important
  • Personable, enquiring and willing to ask questions when unsure
  • Working as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and pride in work produced
  • Organisation of personal workload
  • A proactive and analytical approach with a desire to progress
Qualifications required

You will need to have (or be predicted) three A Levels (A-C) or equivalent (not including general studies), with GCSE's (A-C) including Maths and English B or above
